This project involved working with the clients to understand their needs, budget and time available to maintain the garden after completion. A brief was developed including creating better links to outdoor entertaining areas from the house; relocating utility areas to keep them out of sight; low maintenance planting and screening to provide green views and sightlines from the house and lawns and areas to play.

Once the return brief was approved, site analysis was undertaken to establish current and future garden uses and priorities; movement and site lines in and out of the house; overlooking

the aspect, and soil and weather patterns for the site.

Two options for the design were explored: one where the existing garden shed was retained and one where it was removed to reclaim garden space.

The clients chose to retain the existing shed and entertaining area, painting and refreshing it and as per design one, removing existing barriers and linking it into the main part of the garden. New decking, screening and garden beds were installed and the clothes line was moved to the utility area at the side of the house.
